i have this problem with schoolwork: when there is too much of it all at once, i can't seem to focus on it. fortunately, today's work is mostly group work. i have been so lucky with the people in my classes this semester. seriously. i don't know what i would have done without them...it kind of reminds me of senior year in high school. we have all over-stretched ourselves, so we all just work together and laugh about the fact that we are gradually losing our minds.

jason has his first game with his basketball team tonight since he got hurt. ask me how much i'm dying because i have class during the game. and rachelle has her dance show this week and the poor kid got kicked in the head this weekend. we ran over there for an hour yesterday to see how she's doing/tease her about being more spacey than usual. she's ok, it just made for a worrying day.

one more thing: i love christmas.

Here is what I think:

I believe that J.K. Rowling has fallen into the trap of believing that while childhood is full of love, learning, growth, and magic, adulthood is full of bad choices, small-mindedness, and profanity.

It doesn't have to be that way.

It almost seems like she saw hope and imagination while she was working with children, but her adult work has brought her into contact with nothing more than the grown-up versions of Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson.

Whether a children's book, adolescent, adult, or classic, there can always be strength of character in the book's characters.

There is nothing "grown up" about losing integrity, and I am disappointed if that is really her definition.

Now that I've actually written that down, maybe I can finally finish my homework before class.
